When you lose someone
The pain of losing someone you love is profound and often indescribable, leaving a void that feels impossible to fill. It can come with sorrow, longing, and sometimes disbelief, as you try to grasp the reality of their absence. It can feel overwhelming, with waves of sadness and moments of loneliness, as you navigate life without the person who once played such a significant role. This kind of loss can reshape your world.
Recovering from grief and loss is a deeply personal and gradual process. While there's no set timeline for healing, recovery often includes experiencing and processing intense emotions like sadness, anger, guilt, and even relief. It involves coming to terms with the loss, finding ways to honour the memory of what was lost, and gradually rebuilding a sense of normalcy. Sometimes, recovering from grief can become prolonged or feel stuck. In those moments, a therapist can help you understand your experiences and help you walk through this difficult time.

Are you exhausted from the struggle and looking for a safe judgement-free place; a therapeutic relationship where you can be genuine and not feel you have to "say the right thing"?
I am a Social Worker who is committed to walking alongside you as you navigate life. I offer a warm, non-pathologizing, authentic space for compassionate exploration. I specialize in Grief and Bereavement, Trauma, Navigating Illness and End of Life, Transitional Stress, and Perfectionism.
I work eclectically but draw most intensively from Internal Family Systems, Person-Centred, Cognitive Behavioral and Dialectical Behavior therapies. I prioritize the therapeutic relationship and the brain/body connection. Our work together is collaborative and flexible.
You may be at a place where it's hard to imagine things getting any better; that's an okay starting place. We'll move towards a place of hope together without inauthentic "silver linings". I am happy to walk with you within the pain and overwhelm and act as a guide and compassionate witness.
I provide service to youth and adults from an attachment based, trauma-informed and culturally humble place.
