Complex Trauma Treatment
Don’t wait to get the help you need!
More than 3% of people are estimated to have Complex PTSD.
However, most therapists know very little about the assessment and treatment of complex trauma. Understanding the complicated relationship between dissociation, shame, and relationships is key to the successful treatment of C-PTSD.
Many individuals reaching out to our team for support share that they have been in therapy for years, with many different therapists and no one seems to be able to help them move forward.
Our team is dedicated to walking with you through your journey, you are not alone.
What is Complex PTSD?
Complex Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (C-PTSD) is a condition that can develop after prolonged exposure to traumatic events. Unlike PTSD, which often results from a single traumatic incident, C-PTSD stems from recurring trauma over a period of time, leading to profound and lasting impacts on one's mental and emotional well-being.
Individuals living with C-PTSD may experience a range of symptoms, including intense feelings of shame, guilt, and helplessness, as well as disturbances in self-identity, emotions, and interpersonal relationships. Additionally, they might struggle with regulating their emotions, exhibit hypervigilance, and battle with profound feelings of emptiness and hopelessness.
At Hamilton Trauma Therapy Centre, our experienced clinicians understand the complex nature of C-PTSD and are equipped to provide specialized support and evidence-based treatments tailored to address the multifaceted needs of those affected. Through compassionate and comprehensive care, we strive to help individuals navigate the journey toward healing and reclaim a sense of empowerment, resilience, and inner peace.
